Can I send
a message to someone who is not in my contact list?
You may send a message to a Bantu Messenger user who is not
in your contact list if they are listed in the directory.
Go to the directory page and click on their username to open
a conversation.
You cannot send a message to a Bantu Messenger user who is
neither in your contact list nor listed in the directory.
Nor can you send a message to a user of another network unless
they are listed in your contact list.
NB: sending messages to users on other networks:
You must be connected and logged in to a network to send
a message to someone on that network; e.g. to send a message
to an MSN Messenger user, you must have set up and logged
into an MSN account via Bantu Messenger.

Can I save
an IM conversation?
Yes. At any time during a conversation, click on the File
pull-down menu and select Save As Web page or Email. This
will either save the entire conversation as a Web page (which
will exist until you end your session), or e-mail it to you
as an HTML file.

Can I format text
in the conversation window?
Conversation text can be formatted using the B, I, U S buttons
and the colour pulldown menu. (Bold, Italic, Underline, Shadow,
and colours).
If you are only familiar with the Microsoft Word-style formatting
commands, be warned that Messenger handles text formatting
slightly differently. The best way to create formatted text
is to type it first, highlight it with the mouse and then
click the button to apply the formatting (e.g. bold). Note
that you will not see the text actually appear in bold until
you have sent it to the other contact.

the time shown in the timestamps?

If you wish to change the time, you should change the time
shown on your system clock, if you have access (from the Settings
option in Windows).
